I was born in and raised in St. John's, Newfoundland, Canada, and experimented with a variety of artistic media before finding my niche in the fibre arts. I was originally intent on an academic career and studied at the Memorial University of Newfoundland, earning a B.A. and an M.A. in Religious and Mediaeval Studies. When we moved to New Brunswick, I began to seriously explore my potential as a fibre artist.

I am inspired by the seascapes, landscapes and ecology of the Atlantic Provinces' varied regions and my work reflects my love of the many faces of Newfoundland. I am fascinated by the stark juxtaposition of ocean, land and sky found along the coast and seek to capture in my work the many moods of this environment. My academic background, exploring as it does the island's religious and cultural heritage, has deepened and refined my expression of Newfoundland's strong connection with the sea.

I now live and work in Torbay, Newfoundland with my husband, daughter and three dogs. My work is available primarily through the Devon House Gallery of the Craft Council of Newfoundland and Labrador, Handsmith Gallery in Halifax, Nova Scotia and from my studio in Torbay (I am hard at work most days, but it never hurts to call ahead). I do deal with a number of smaller shops and can sell privately. My work can be seen on my website or through my blog

My C.V. is also available online... have a look, should you be so inclined.
